2019 BMW i8 Roadster review - Hot looking, but what's the REAL story?

2019 BMW i8 Roadster review - Hot looking, but what's the REAL story?

First off, I'd like to thank Paul Graffe and my friends at BMW of Hawaii for giving me the opportunity to showcase such a sensational car, it was a lot of fun to share some of the science behind those dramatically sculpted lines.
This 2019 BMW i8 roadster review covers everything from the B38 gas engine to the 11.7kwh battery to the 141 horsepower /184 lb/ft electric motor beneath the fixed hood.
The i8 uses 3d printing in the convertible top hardware and the convertible top itself retracts in 16 seconds and can be retracted up to 31 miles per hour.
The 2018 BMW i8 roadster goes 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and goes from 70-0 in 165 feet.
Thanks to a tightened rear roll bar and relaxed front suspension bushing, the understeer issue of prior models is eliminated without resorting to wider tires.
Structually the 2019 i8 roadster is reinforced in the rear bulkhead and on the side structures so that there is virtually zero shake. The 2019 i8 convertible weighs just 132 pounds more than the i8 coupe. The 2019 i8 spyder has 369 combined horsepower along with 429 lb/ft of combined torque.
The 2019 i8 fuel economy is 35 mpg combined in real world driving and features an 11.1 gallon fuel tank.
