Acceptance is something we all seek, be it during school, college, from our family, friends- to be loved for who we are. Alongside this, we're also in a constant state of change. Abhina Aher's life was also changing, she was, her entire identity was a question to herself.
Rejection for her came from everyone- her class teacher who criticized her for her appearance, her classmates, where 10 boys raped her at an early age and even her mother. In this transitioning phase, depression, thoughts of suicide swept Abhina. But a few incidents made her realize and made her declare- Abhina, you need to accept yourself, love yourself, find your purpose, find yourself and the self-worth. And her gender expression and journey of converting depression to expression of self-confidence and self-improvement is something the world should hear.

She is a transgender activist and an associate director at India HIV/AIDS Alliance on gender sexuality rights and has her own Tweet Foundation, Transgender Welfare Equity & Empowerment Trust and her dancing group Dancing Queens.
