Atletico Madrid ultras chant against Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata during Getafe clash

Atletico Madrid fans have opposed the signing of Alvaro Morata by chanting against the Chelsea striker during their clash with Getafe on Saturday.  Morata was expected to complete his loan move to Atletico this week following Gonzalo Higuain’s arrival at Stamford Bridge.  But according to reports in Spain, Atletico and Chelsea have not yet reached an agreement as the Spanish club only want the option to permanently sign the striker at the end of the season.  Chelsea are intent on selling Morata, who they signed for £60 million, and the striker has reportedly agreed personal terms with Atletico.  Morata’s switch has also been held up due to Atletico having complications with Monaco over a loan deal for Gelson Martins.  But Atletico’s ultras made their feelings about Morata’s arrival perfectly clear at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday as they chanted against the striker.  Atletico Madrid fans sung ‘Menos Morata y mas Borja Garces’, which translates to ‘less Morata and more Borja Garces’.  Garces, a 19-year-old striker who made his first-team debut in September, joined Atletico’s academy in 2016.  Interestingly, not all fans in the stadium agreed with the club’s ultras as the chant was met with whistles from other Atletico supporters.
