Ranidel De Ocampo eager to contribute to Bolts after regaining full fitness

RANIDEL De Ocampo enters the new season of the PBA injury-free.
The Meralco veteran bared that he is now back to full fitness and ready to contribute for the Bolts in the coming season after finally recovering from a leg injury.
“Healthy na ako,” De Ocampo said. “Excited na ako makalaro. Matagal din ako nawala. Sana makatulong ako sa team ngayong season na ‘to.”
De Ocampo played only 11 games last season and averaged 7.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists for the Bolts. He only suited up for three games in the recent Governors' Cup.
The 37-year-old admitted the injury could possibly slow him down for the coming season, but said he remained determined to contribute in any way for the Bolts.
“Medyo nabawasan ‘yung talon at bilis pero unti-unti namang makakabalik. ‘Yung experience at pagiging leader ng team, sana makatulong,” said De Ocampo.
The former Gilas standout said Meralco players have also matured following last season’s campaign that saw the Bolts reach the playoffs twice.
“May mga bago at nag-mature ‘yung ibang players. Nag-adjust din si coach sa system. Sana maging maganda ang resulta ng mga laro namin dahil doon,” said De Ocampo.
Meralco opens the season on Wednesday against Phoenix Pulse at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum as the Bolts will look to bounce back after missing the playoffs of last year’s Philippine Cup.
