It takes a good 4-6 months to obtain a firearms licence in Canada. In this video I give a quick overview of the steps that a citizen needs to take to obtain a Possession & Acquisition Licence, otherwise known as a PAL.
Every few years politicians talk about increasing gun control in Canada. My opinion is that the current controls are very strict. Increasing gun control in Canada won't do anything to reduce gun crime (which is already very low), since criminals, by definition, don't abide by the law.
