Foxconn announced a state of the art manufacturing facility in Wisconsin that would manufacture LCD tvs. It even inspired lawmakers to provide the largest every cash incentive directly out of taxpayers pockets, something to the tune of $2.85 billion. The problem is Woo said, "that the company was still evaluating options for Wisconsin, but cited the steep cost of making advanced TV screens in the United States, where labor expenses are comparatively high."“In terms of TV, we have no place in the U.S.,” Woo said. “We can’t compete.” Interesting because the subject we have been covering which is raise the wage gathering steam was championed as rescue for the U.S. labor participants. In the words of the Head of Foxconn economically it would be foolish to think anything can be manufactured here. Well at least they got their foot in the door huh.
