Injury boosts, key clashes & everything to look out for in February

After a January which saw Liverpool extend their Premier League lead to five points, the Reds February offering only looks more exciting.  Of course last month was dominated by potential transfers and links in the winter window but Jurgen Klopp stood firm in his belief that he had exactly what he needed for the title run-in.  There was plenty of unrest after the transfer window shut last year however, the critics were silenced and the manager's faith in his squad was proved right as others stepped up on the thrilling and unexpected journey to the Champions League final in Kiev.  Now Klopp has once again placed his trust in the talent already at his disposal rather than opting for fresh blood and here are the big things to look out for and look forward to in February.  Liverpool FA Youth Cup clash - February 13  There is an exciting wealth of talent coming through the ranks at Melwood.  Paul Glatzel and Bobby Duncan are the most lethal double act in English youth football while Abdi Sharif is a very exciting footballer and there is another prolific young striker in 16-year-old Fidel O'Rourke who's a possible option of the bench.  Around the backline there is also Ki-Jana Hoever who's had a remarkable rise and young Czech goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros who has enhanced his reputation over the course of this season with a series of outstanding performances for the Reds' under-18s side.  The young Reds will play their fifth-round tie against Wigan Athletic on Wednesday, February 13 at 7pm.  Chester FC’s Swansway Stadium is set to host the match season ticket holders and members can attend the fixture for free so it's a good chance to see some of the potential stars of tomorrow. Liverpool v Bayern Munich - February 19  It's a clash of European titans.  Players dream of being involved in ties like this and fans dream of being able to watch the club they love compete in a contest of such incredible proportions.  The likes of Robert Lewandowski, Arjen Robben, Mats Hummels and Manuel Neuer will arrive at Anfield for the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 match.  It goes without saying but watching Jurgen Klopp's men do battle with the Bundesliga heavyweights is not to be missed. The squad boosts - February  Defensive reinforcements are on the horizon with Trent Alexander-Arnold expected to return to fitness soon after the West Ham clash on February 4.  So too Dejan Lovren in the heart of defence while Jurgen Klopp has hinted that Joe Gomez, who fractured his leg during  Liverpool's win over Burnley , has the potential to return after that aforementioned Bayern Munich game too.
