Yatra is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language biographical film about Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2009. The film is written and directed by Mahi V. Raghav and stars Mammootty as YSR. Principal photography commenced on 20 June 2018 in Hyderabad.

the much-awaited biopic of YS Rajasekhara Reddy, which is titled Yatra, is hitting the screens on October 21 this year. The film has Malayalam superstar Mammootty playing the former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh.
There is a significance to the date of October 21. It is the birthday of YSR's son YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who is the founder and president of YSR Congress.
Unlike other biopics, Yatra does not chronicle the entire life of YSR. Instead, the story is just about the historic padayatra of YSR that changed the course of Andhra Pradesh's politics.
In 2003, YSR took a long walk across the state and covered about 1,475 km on foot. This assured the victory of his party in the 2004 election and he then did the same thing in 2009.
Yatra will document this remarkable event from the state's history. Directed by Mahi Raghav, the film went on floors on June 20 this year.
