Power outages in Michigan continue to grow with about 140K affected

Power outages continue to spread throughout West and Mid-Michigan as Consumers Energy reports there are 143,031 customers in the state as of 2:10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7.

There are 1,599 active outages reported, according to Consumers Energy’s outage map. The Jackson-based utility reports crews are currently in the field working to “assess damage and accurately predict when power will be restored.” Keep up with the outage map from the utility by clicking here. Affected customers was at about 35,000 around 7 a.m. Thursday, 120,000 about 11:30 a.m. and now at the current state of a fluctuating 140,000 as after 2 p.m.
