Have you seen some shapes that are flat while some shapes are solid? Well, then you already know what 2D and 3D shapes are!

Geometry has numerous shapes which can be divided into two categories- two dimensional and three dimensional. The only difference these two shapes have is 2D shapes don’t have height and 3D shapes do have height.

Three-dimensional shapes are seen by us on a daily basis such as a ball, glass, fruits, cap etc. We define three dimensional as any shapes which have three dimensions. Those three dimensions are length, width, and height. If you look carefully at a three-dimensional object it takes space from the front, back, up, down and even sideways. Whereas two-dimensional shapes are plane shapes that can only be drawn on a piece of paper.
