Among or Between - Which one should you use? Common mistakes by ESL students

Among or between? It’s a common question I get from ESL students.
Put simply you should use between when there are only two items. Spain is BETWEEN Portugal & France.
Among is used when there are many items. Bill was lost AMONG the crowd.
