I was so fortunate to be invited by belif to attend the Prabal Gurung NYFW Spring 2018 show both backstage and front row of the catwalk. I have a soft spot for this designer and his beautiful message of diversity which can be seen in his show and is more relevant than ever. The show’s skin prep and makeup is so my jam! The look is glowing skin, bare-faced makeup that celebrates one’s natural beauty. This is what I go for daily. It’s taken a lot for my skin to get to where it is today, and I want it to show, I want to enhance it rather than be consumed with covering things up, even the flaws (hello panda eyes with luggage!) So my girl Mical, the makeup artist in this video, is recreating the skin prep and makeup from the show, but on me…a regular shmoe who’s so not a model. And, I LOVE it! I’ve always found that with proper skincare, makeup can be simple and you won’t need highlighters to fake hydrated skin. Side note : Hope you understand that I’m not a ‘posey’ person, I can’t pose, it feels unnatural and I look stupid. Also, apologies about the audio, the room I filmed in was far more echo-ey than anticipated.
