Deputy President William Ruto has denied reports that the government plans to privatise national carrier, Kenya Airways saying that the state was committed to protecting its assets to the last man.
The DP said that Kenya Airways supports the country’s tourism sector as well as exports the horticulture sector and it will be reckless for the government to allow Kenya Airways to go under.
He was speaking in Bunambo village, Tongaren Constituency in Bungoma County during the thanksgiving ceremony of Dr John Chikati, following his appointment as Special Secretary in charge of Strategy and Delivery in the office of the Deputy President.
According to the DP, the executive wants the legislature and more so members of parliament to be patient and listen to the plans that the government has put in place.
He said that as the executive, they will go through the motions and eventually take their proposal to parliament which will eventually will be explained to so that everyone reads from the same script.
