The social media profile of Bajrang Sonkar, one of the attackers of Kashmiri traders in Lucknow shows that he is the head of a group called Vishwa Hindu Dal. The profile of another accused Himanshu Awasthi shows that he is the state chief of Vishwa Hindu Dal. He has also posted videos of him giving his views in a debate a national TV channel. Ravish Kumar says that these two men are not just 'fringe elements' but 'mainstream elements'.
