Pundit heaps praise on Chelsea midfielder after England display Former England striker Ian Wright was full of praise for Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley after he starred for the Three Lions in the 5-0 win against Czech Republic last night (Friday).   The Chelsea man came off the bench at Wembley after just 17 minutes, replacing Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier after he picked up an injury.  And the former Everton midfielder made a positive impact on the game, with his performance drawing praise from Wright, who was in the studio as a pundit on ITV Sport's coverage of the Euro 2020 qualifiier.  "[He had] Some great touches, he got on the ball and was attacking," the former Arsenal striker said.  "He was running with it and making things happen. He was very good and made a difference."  The 25-year-old has come in for some criticism for his performances at Chelsea this season, and has been in and out of the side.  He has still scored five goals and registered five assists for the Blues in all competitions, and was instrumental for England in a dominant display against Czech Republic, as Raheem Sterling netted a hat-trick, with Harry Kane also scoring from the penalty spot and Tomas Kalas scoring an own goal late on.    Barkley will now hope to feature again for the Three Lions when they face Montenegro in the second game of their Euro 2020 qualifying group on Monday night.   Keep up to date with the latest news, features and exclusives from football.london via the free football.london app for iPhone and Android .  Available to download from the App Store and Google Play
