John Hargrove was a killer-whale trainer at SeaWorld Texas and SeaWorld California during 12 years and supervisor of orca trainers at Marineland in France for 2 more years. After the tragic death of a colleague by a killer-whale and after hearing the company blaming her for her own death, John was totally disenchanted with the company. 7 days after he resigned, he participated in the Blackfish documentary and he works now protecting the cetaceans. Now he supports the legislative processes that might put an end to killer-whales captivity in California and New York and he has published the book Beneath the Surface: Killer Whales, SeaWorld, and the Truth Beyond Blackfish.
