Got a headache? You’ll have plenty of time to sleep it off.
Try, 36 years.
That’s how long the average American will spend in bed over the course of their lifetime.
Take it from a new survey of 2,000 people conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Slumber Cloud.
We’re not just counting sheep, either.
It’s time for some simple math.
Say we get seven hours of sleep.
Then add in four hours relaxing and watching TV in bed every day and that’s 11 hours.
Suddenly, that’s nearly half our lifetime!
To clock those many hours, the bed better be comfortable.
But as it turns out, for as much time as we spend getting some shut eye, only 53% of Americans really like their bed.
75% think their bed could be more comfortable, so that leads to a lot of tossing and turning.
Which makes sense, because the Slumber Cloud survey also revealed only half of the respondents could say their bed had a positive effect on their sleep.
And some are going to the dog house on purpose!
Four in 10 people got up during the night to sleep on another piece of furniture like the couch because they couldn’t sleep in their bed.
Unfortunately, the sleepwalking is the only exercise they’ll get since 65% of Americans said they’d be more likely to work out if they slept through the night.
Hit the gym or hit the sack?
That is the question.
