A VERY IRRITATED BLACK MAMBA!

A VERY IRRITATED BLACK MAMBA! This was one of the most angry and irritated Black Mambas I've ever caught!

I don't like calling snakes aggressive. Angry, at times, like this one. But not aggressive. Humans can be aggressive, but not snakes :) They don't just attack people. This Black Mamba looks like its being aggressive, but it's not.

This decent sized Black Mamba had been left very exposed, and cornered by a dog. It apparently tried getting over the relatively short wall, but failed, and I'm so grateful it did! If it got over the wall, and fell to the other side, this would have ended in disaster. The dogs would attack, and the snake would have to defend itself.

So in such circumstances, this Black Mamba really feared for its life, and rightly so. As you can see, it kept trying to escape, even if tha meant having to scare me first.

This definitely got the adrenaline pumping!
