Once, a merchant had a very disobedient, irreligious son named Bobby. His mother and
father often looked at him and felt bad that he was so careless.
One day, Bobby’s mother was tired of scolding him. Intending to excite his faith, his
mother sent him to listen to a saint’s sermon in the temple. As usual, Bobby refused to
go and he mocked God and his mother.
Seeing no other way, his mother finally promised to give him a thousand copper coins if
he went and sat through the entire sermon. The greedy son finally agreed only for the
money.
