Google Home Hub Vs Amazon Echo Show Vs Lenovo Smart Display

Google Home Hub Vs Amazon Echo Show Vs Lenovo Smart Display Google Home Hub Vs Amazon Echo Show Vs Lenovo Smart Display

Let's pit the biggest Smart Displays against each other in a full technical battle. The Google Home Hub versus the Amazon Echo Show (2nd generation) versus the Lenovo Smart Display. All three of these smart home hubs have a place in your home, but which one reigns supreme in the battle of home automation king?

The Google Home Hub has a small footprint, as it's only a 7" display. It has the Google Assistant on board and it has Chromecast built-in. Its processor is strong and ready for the future, its interface is great, and its capabilities are some of the best in the world right now. It's still missing a few things like that top end of automation that its rival Echo Show has. It's also missing that big screen, a camera for video calls, and a real lively speaker. What it is missing in stature, it makes up for in style and purpose.

The Amazon Echo Show 2nd Generation is a serious refinement over the first generation Echo Show. Amazon really went to work here and put together an incredible device. Their speaker is excellent and sounds like something I want to have in my home theatre room. They have a great onboard browser (2 actually), and I love the Tap to Alexa function. Their voice assistant, Alexa, is one of the best in the world, although it's not quite up to the level of Google's now. However, their ecosystem of skills and automation partners is unrivaled and that, coupled with the onboard ZigBee hub, makes this a true smart home hub.

The Lenovo Smart Display is likely Google's biggest competitor for the Google Home Hub when it comes to Smart Displays with the Google Assistant onboard. The Lenovo Smart Display comes in 2 lovely sizes, 8" and 10". The 10" is an absolutely stunning display, and the speaker is tops in the category as far as I'm concerned. However, I find its processor is losing a little ground and acts more like a tablet (it should...it's a Snapdragon). It also suffers from the affliction that Google is creating by giving their own devices some early features. Other than that, the Lenovo is nearly a perfect device...if you ignore a few of the nagging issues they've had.

In the end, there can be only one. I'll let you find out in this marathon battle of the Smart Displays. Will it be the #GoogleHomeHub, the #AmazonEchoShow, or the #LenovoSmartDisplay?
