Henri Lamy - Fine Artist - Trailer - #henrilamy Henri Lamy's latest work + promo for upcoming solo exhibit of "Sapiens Artist" at Pintô Art Museum in the Philippines.

Wanting to “speak to everyone” with his art; Henri Lamy is a French figurative painter and performance artist. Born in 1985 to an artistic family, Henri was introduced to drawing by his father and grandfather. This supportive upbringing plus a desire to connect with others have shaped his life and art.

From drawing, Henri moved to acrylic painting, teaching himself to create large-scale artworks – ranging from figurative to abstract, organic to geometric – with a palette knife and layers of pigment. He started his career as a member of the Paris 59 Rivoli art center. But, even as a four-year-old boy doing handstands, Henri had a need for spontaneity and movement, which eventually led him to performance art.

He is greatly influenced by his world travels, and has always worked with locals to paint and express to them that they are, indeed, seen and matter. During his time in Brazil, Henri began practicing the martial art of capoeira, which he incorporated into live painting performances. By meeting the viewer “where they are”, he transfixes audiences with his movement while painting, letting them experience life and art in the moment, on a soul-to-soul level.
Henri exhibits his works in Beijing, Manila, Tokyo , Hong Kong, Geneva, Beirut, Bangkok and various cities in France. Along with his wife, Maïa d'Aboville, a French-Filipina art director, he created the Taverne Gutenberg art centre in Lyon as well as Ugnayan sa Poblacion international residency program in Manila.
