The ECHO 58 Volt PAS system with mid reach hedge trimmer attachment is first used on the most accessible side of the hedge to clear recent growth and give us better access and visibility for our reduction cuts.
An ill-advised effort is made to prune everything by hand afterwards, before discovering the existing trunks are much thicker than anticipated.
Swapping the mid reach trimming attachment for the power pruner ensures I won't spend 6 hours on this job with the manual pruners! The power pruner on the 58V PAS performed really well, though I do not think it is recommended to use the two together (I could be wrong, I know there are some tools you shouldn't use because of the torque output).
All debris was pulled to the street for city pickup. I live in a rural municipality that provides free (well, our taxes pay for it, but you know what I mean) curb side pickup of yard debris. The city has several flat bed trucks and guys with rakes/shovels for the small stuff and several huge dump trucks with hydraulic scoops for the big stuff like this.
