Jacob Rees-Mogg says PM's talks with Corbyn is 'not the best idea'

Jacob Rees-Mogg says PM's talks with Corbyn is 'not the best idea' The hard Left Labour leader said his first meeting with the Prime Minister to try and find a Brexit consensus had been ‘useful but inconclusive’. But he also complained that ‘hasn't been as much change as I expected’ from a meeting which had led to widespread fury in Tory ranks. The opposition leader confirmed that he raised the idea of a customs union, a second referendum and keeping current European standards on workers’ rights and the environment, key plans of Labour’s alternative vision.
His interview came late on a day which saw two Tory ministers resign in disgust, with MPs demanding a new secret ballot on her leadership.
They are furious that she chose to hatch a Brexit deal with Jeremy Corbyn rather than leave the EU with No Deal on April 12.
She lit a political powder keg by abandoning hopes of persuading hardline Brexiteers and the DUP to back her deal and instead offering talks with the Labour leader on delivering a softer Brexit.
