Matrices Lecture 9 Part(2/7) - Determinants - Co-factor of an element - All boards 1st year Maths Chapter 2 Matrices Lecture - Determinants - Co-factor of an element - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KPK), Federal, Punjab, Sindh Board 1st year Mathematics

In this video concept of co-factor of an element is explained. The co-factor of an element is either equals to minor of an element or to the additive inverse of an element depending upon the sum result of i and j. If the sum result of i and j is even then co-factor and minor are equal and if the sum result of i and j is odd then co-factor and minor are additive inverses of each other. Co-factor of an element is represented by corresponding capital letter with same i and j. Like for aij the co-factor would be represented by Aij.
