He says “not enough to make me want do what I did” when asked why did he hate Shanann....Kessinger says he never spoke badly about her..in fact he was always kind, never hostile when speaking about her or their issues...he adored his children and wanted to be the best Dad that he could be.. Shanann’s spending wasn’t an issue, he didn’t even know what their financial situation looked like as far as he says..The camera in his face wasn’t an issue and he was doing it for Shanann...Nikki says, when he spoke about their financial issues he was frustrated but not resentful toward Shanann about it...so this leaves the burning question..”Why did Chris Watts murder his wife and children?.”
Here’s why....he was influenced, he started to see the Shanann that everyone else saw..or everyone that hated her saw..as his friend Mark had said that Chris had said to him..Chris only started to see this when he began his affair because this is when he began being seduced and manipulated..Nikki playing her reverse psychology games every time he did go and “be with his kids” yet saying the opposite..she would tell him to go then be passive aggressive once he did...then nutgate..which his mother (who already didn’t care for Shanann due to an earlier fall out in 2012 and feeling that she was not good enough from the beginning for her son) caused..had this have happened had he not been having an affair, he may have fixed it as Shanann had asked him to at the beach...instead, after finally getting to see his parents he took their side because he wanted to, it was another excuse to use to get out..he knew if he told his parents that he was leaving Shanann, that his mom would have been happy..he knew even when he murdered Shanann that his parents would blame her..which they did...His mom wanted to win and to win he had to leave Shanann, of course we know the ending...hopefully not how the mother wanted it to end...but she still won, hence no attendance at the funeral ...no need..job done. There’s only two reasons why she would not attend...didn’t care or guilty.
Nikki kept drumming into his head how important family was and how great her finances were..and she held everything together by herself, worked in a male dominated industry with ease, whilst still exuding a femininity about her, when she would put herself on display every morning when walking into the mess room, to put her lunch in the fridge and walk by them all...This is what the caught the attention of Chris Watts..this women had her life together...and this same ‘prize’, or display trophy wanted him too..she then begins to detached him from his life and brought him into hers - where no man had ever been before! How special and important he was! Once detached she takes him on the journey of his life, suggesting doing all of the things that she knew that he loved, after researching his life by googling Watts and Shanann Watts on Facebook and by asking him never ending questions..within those few weeks she knew everything about his life..from what he earned to his children’s medical conditions, to if he had a 401k ..armed with this she whisks him away, but not to just anywhere, to places he associates with his father his ‘hero’ and a happy period in his life, a common interest in cars that he shared with his father..which now Kessinger had associated herself into that happy memory, or feeling he got when he thought of those times, the warmth, the love, the happiness ..he now felt when he thought of her too..exactly what she wanted..quite genius if not so sinister.
