Last week we talked about how prayers requires an answer to God, how prayer requires a cross, and how prayer requires thanksgiving. All of which show that we understand our role before God, who is our Father. This is the fun part! Getting to see how a good God chooses to bless His children. Often times, what we get is not always what we want. Often times, we come before God in our prayers, hoping to have a request answered. Though the request is okay, God does not always answer as we would like. Still, when we continue to turn to God in prayer for everything, although we don't always get everything we want, God gets everything He wants, a heart open to Him. The more we pray and trust God, the more we get to know Him and how He functions, and the more we are changed in His image. Here's something to think about: God wants you to ask Him for things in prayer, BUT prayer never changes God, rather, prayer changes us. It changes us from self-reliant, independent, I-can-do-it-myself sinners, to dependent servants trusting in God's work rather than our own.
