Ozil’s current deal runs until June 2021 and the news could be a big problem for the Gunners as previous reports claimed they want to sell him at the end of the season. The German has been on the periphery of the first team for large parts of the current campaign. Manager Unai Emery often drops him for the big away games and Ozil was visibly angered at being substituted in the Europa League semi-final win over Valencia on Thursday night. Emery wants to rebuild his squad in the summer but will need to sell some of his biggest assets to raise the funds. Unless Arsenal qualify for the Champions League, Emery will be given a budget of just £40million for new signings so the likes of Ozil are at risk of being sold if a buyer can be found. Ozil is the club's top-earner on a reported £350,000 per week. However, his agent, Dr Erkut Sogut, appeared to put paid to any hopes of them getting him off the wage bill as he revealed his client intends to stay for the duration of his current deal. “Rumours will always persist, there is no doubt about that,” he said. “But one thing I can guarantee is Mesut’s loyalty. His mind is focused on Arsenal, and Arsenal only. “Mesut bleeds Arsenal red, and respecting his contract is a certainty. “He’ll be staying at Arsenal until at least 2021, and the fans need not to worry about the gossip that may come this summer. “He has found a place he feels welcome and believes he has a lot more to give.” As well as Ozil, Arsenal are reportedly keen to push Henrikh Mkhitaryan towards the exit door. Since moving to the club from Manchester United as part of the deal that took Alexis Sanchez to Old Trafford, Mkhitaryan has failed to impress. As with Ozil, though, finding a potential suitor might be difficult given his high wages.
