Failure to pay money to police Genuine Indian branded as Foreigner

Failure to pay money to police Genuine Indian branded as Foreigner For Pintu Roy,
a relative of one disappearing lady of Lower Haflong, poor and Bengali people are not at all independent in India, and justice is always being denied to them only because of being Bengali.

Roy argued if it was not true then how the border police or the Foreign Tribunal can make a genuine citizen of India having all the legal documents a foreigner?

The story goes like, one day a group of Border police was enquiring a house adjacent to the house of one Ratna Malakar at Lower Haflong, Ratna’s eldest son Sona who was returning from his daily job asked them about their presence, at this, the police personal noted his mother’s name and after three/ four days they came to their house and asked for the documents related to the NRC and also demanded an amount of rupees which they could not pay and for failure to pay the money demanded by the Border Police of Dima Hasao District, Ratna Malakar, a resident of Lower Haflong area in Haflong was declared as foreigner.

Even after having all the legal documents, Ratna Malakar was declared as foreigner by Ranjan Kumar Bharali’s Foreign Tribunal on 14th June 2017.

After this incident, Ratna Malakar disappeared without having any knowledge of her whereabouts to the family members.

Following the disappearance of her, Ratna’s elder son Shona Malakar lost his mental balance and the younger son went missing and the family shattered in grief.

In addition, names being published in NRC, they have also submitted every documents they have before 1970 to the foreign tribunal, but after all these the poor family did not get any justice, just for not providing the money.

Ratna Malakar used to stay with other 5 members of her family in a hut near the old MG Railway tracks at Lower Haflong. Ratna’s husband, Nilu Malakar is a daily wage labourer and Ratna herself used to sell vegetables to run the family.
