Ottawa to exempt some energy projects from assessments under C-69 | Power & Politics The federal government released new details about which energy projects will be subjected to greater scrutiny by regulators under Bill C-69, the controversial legislation that overhauls Canada's environmental assessment process. Ottawa says certain oilsands projects will be exempt from the process, as long as Alberta Premier Jason Kenney maintains his province's cap on emissions from the oil sector.
