Download my free candida report here Eric Bakker, all the way from naturo, not all the way from naturopathic, all the way from New Zealand. Thanks for tuning into my video today. We're going to talk about age associated decline and also the microbiome. So can boosting the gut function really help older people? Can it be a benefit for elderly people? Well, studies conducted where they found they took bacteria from healthy mice, young mice and put them into older mice digestive system, they found that the older mice, the immune system improved. So there's certainly scope there for future, for studies and more advancement towards microbiome manipulation for the elderly.
And I can really see this taking off in the next 20 to 50 years, where specific type of illnesses, geriatric related illnesses will be effectively treated with probiotics, with enzymes, with good types of natural treatments that help to restore the microbiome function to a higher level. So there's certainly studies that reveal that one of the areas that take the biggest hit as people get older is the digestive tract. And unfortunately when that starts going south and you start getting a problem with nutrient absorption, digestion and uptake and excretion, if one of those three key area is affected, the person ages rapidly, and then they slowly go down.
So the gut is the key and it's been something I've be talking about for decades now. Finally science is coming to realize that by rejuvenating the microbiome, we can actually help to extend people's lifespans and their quality of their life, far more than giving handfuls of drugs and surgeries and junk like this that they'd been doing now for so long.
So it's going to be turning point coming up in medicine really soon. I can see it, and it's all got to do with the microbiome. Watch this space. Thanks for tuning in. Thanks for the question.
