Bringing an idea to physical form is a journey of discovery. #OneMinuteWeekly #64 is with Leo Ochoa of Dorsum a company that aims to liberate humankind from back pain by integrating a flexible expo-spine device that can be easily worn under regular clothing.
Leo initially found difficulty when trying to create a tangible version of Dorsum’s initial product.
While at points he may have felt he was wasting time and resources, he trusted in his process.
When ideas flowed, he captured them without judgement:
- Voice memos
- Writing
- Video Journaling
- Sketching
- Building
He learned to activate his subconscious through reflection and meditation.
To his surprise, patterns of thought would emerge, and some of the ideas would continue to appear above the others.
As he worked with those ideas, iterated, and experimented, he was able to look back through the documentation whenever he felt stuck.
Thus, his idea was born, and Dorsum had created their first prototype, and he had learned an immense amount in the journey.
