Quentin Tarantino Says His Proposed Star Trek Movie Would Definitely By R-Rated According to a report by Comicbook.com, while Quentin Tarantino's proposed Star Trek movie is still unconfirmed by Paramount Pictures, the filmmaker confirmed that if he were to make a Star Trek movie that it would definitely be rated R, a first for the long-running series. In an interview with Empire, Tarantino reportedly said, “Oh yeah! It’s an R-rated movie. If I do it, it’ll be R-rated.” However, Karl Urban, who has played Doctor 'Bones' McCoy since 2009, assured fans of the series, “You shouldn’t worry that it is going to be full of obscenity and stuff. He wants an R-rating to really make those beats of consequence land."
