opiate & substance abuse epidemic | my story of addiction & suboxone drug treatment

opiate & substance abuse epidemic | my story of addiction & suboxone drug treatment It’s never to late to make a change in your life, so if you or anyone you may know suffers from a drug addiction please seek treatment. This is my story of my struggle with opiate substance abuse to vicodin and how I overcame my addiction. Opioids are a diverse class of moderately strong painkillers, including oxycodone (commonly sold under the trade names OxyContin and Percocet), hydrocodone (Vicodin, Norco), and a very strong painkiller, fentanyl, which is synthesized to resemble other opiates such as opium-derived morphine and heroin. The potency and availability of these substances, despite their high risk of addiction and overdose, have made them popular both as medical treatments and as recreational drugs. Due to their sedative effects on the part of the brain which regulates breathing, the respiratory center of the medulla oblongata, opioids in high doses present the potential for respiratory depression, and may cause respiratory failure and death. The opioid crises in America has rose to new heights over the last decade and there seems to be no end in sights. Over the course of 2017 alone there were over 70,000 documented deaths related to opioids. That in itself is more then the Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan death toll combined. Drug overdoses are now the leading cause of injury death in the United States, outnumbering both traffic crashes and gun-related deaths. The rise in overdose deaths is largely due to the proliferation of illicitly made fentanyl, a highly potent synthetic opioid, and fentanyl analogs. President Trump has a initiative to stop opioid abuse and confronting the driving forces behind the opioid crisis in America. President Trump is mobilizing his entire Administration to address drug addiction and opioid abuse by directing the declaration of a Nationwide Public Health Emergency to address the opioids crisis. need to get the facts out in the open and stop having so many kids and teens being sheltered away from the reality’s of the streets and drugs. I come from a history of addicts and thankfully was able to seek help and suboxone/ methadone treatment before my addiction took over my life and sent me down a true path of darkness and defeat over my own willpower. Please if you or anyone you know has a drug problem, please don’t be afraid to seek help or try and help that person find the help. There are drug treatment places in every state in America as well as most cities and towns. Treatment only works when your ready to accept change and admit to having a addiction.
