Michelle Boltz, Libby Critical Access Hospital - Nurse Practitioner, Montana USA
Initially practicing in Arctic Alaska providing full spectrum primary care to a region similar in size to the North Island. The region was very remote being 500km from the nearest road system and 800 km from the nearest support hospital. A Community Health Aid program has been developed over the last 50 years where trained locals follow a comprehensive manual to provide health care to their communities. Now at Libby Critical Access Hospital, they have seen success at providing a high level of care at a rural hospital.
